St Vincent de Paul to Reorganize Operations

TRAVERSE CITY, MI, April 17, 2012 — The Board of Directors of the Society of St Vincent de Paul St. Francis Conference in Traverse City, Michigan have voted to temporarily cease daily thrift store and food pantry operations in order to implement organizational changes to ensure the long-term viability of the organization.  Emergency services will still be available to help needy persons during this time of transition.

Board President Margaret Sophiea stated that “Recent events have made it necessary for us to take a few steps backward in order to determine the best ways to move forward.  We look forward to the opportunity to re-launch St. Vincent de Paul in the next 45 to 90 days and further enrich the community in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul.”
